Pokémon Legends: Arceus - How to catch Cherrim

Ok, so as many of you will probably already know, Cherrim is a hard catch. This is because of two things:
1. He is very hard to find and the Pokédex and map aren't really in sync if you ask me.
2. It becomes impossible to catch once it changes forms, yes, impossible!! Nintendo admitted as much.
So, what I did, or do, to catch Cherrim, is as follows:
Save before a shaking tree, check whether it's Cherrim, restart the game
Wait for either nightfall, or rain and save again, then start the encounter and catch it, if you fail, restart the game, yada yada
