Are the REBELS really TERRORISTS?
After watching Rogue One, I couldn't help but wonder if we were watching a movie about intergalactic terrorists. After some digging, this is what I found.
In short... no. If we define what a terrorist is then it doesn't matter wether or not the Rebels in Star Wars kill innocent people because that is not their goal. They consistently attack military targets, albeit with potential collateral damage.
Lucky for the Star Wars Universe, there's a clear line generally drawn between civilian places and military targets. The real world isn't that simple.
Terrorist organizations might feel like they're the good guys in the fight against the Empire, but they're wrong. Legitimate rebel groups could take that claim, but the methods of modern terrorist organizations exclude them from comparison to the Rebel Alliance in Star Wars.
