WATCH THIS VIDEO on how to make an Easy Apple Pie Recipe
Easy Apple Pie Recipe
One of my favorite desserts is the Apple Pie.
The quickest and easiest version I have ever come across is this French styled apple flan. It takes minutes to prepare and only about 25 minutes in the oven.
So if you are looking to prepare something your friends and family for afternoon tea or dessert and have little time to mess around in the kitchen then this recipe is the one!
Ingredients:
Sheet of Puff pastry
2-3 apples
¼ tsp of cinnamon
1 tbs butter
1-2 tbs of apricot jam (or any other jam)
25mls/1floz water
Directions:
1. Pre Heat oven to 375F/190C and peel and core apples and slice thinly
2. In a bowl mix in the cinnamon to the apples
3. Lay out puff pastry sheet on buttered baking tray and fold sides so you have a ½ inch border right around the flan.
4. Lay out the apple slices in rows inside the borders of the pastry until the entire center is covered. Overlay the apples as thinly or thickly as you desire.
5. In a small pot heat reduce the apricot jam and water by half and put through a strainer to get rid of any lumps.
6. Brush apples with melted butter and then brush with the jam glaze (you can bypass the glaze and just sprinkle with sugar if you want to make this recipe even quicker).
7. Place in the oven for 25 minutes then take it out and serve with some whipped cream.
How easy and simple is that? I still love my traditional apple pie but you cannot go pass this if you are in a hurry.
Try sliced peaches for an interesting and tasty alternative I love it!
Happy cooking my friends.
