This is what happens when the thumb test fails!
When I was harvesting the butternut squash, there were a couple that were borderline and I had to check for ripeness with the thumb test. In my first butternut squash harvest video, I showed how it looks when the thumb test succeeds, but this is what it looks like when it fails. Just to have as a good reference.
