An American emo/pop punk outfit from the intermountain west, The Young Romantics' powerful debut single "Intro" introduces Charlie Cooper, a 23-year-old newlywed who returns home shortly after the death of his wife, Sara, and begins to lose his grasp on reality. The track draws inspiration from The Wonder Years, pre-hiatus Fall Out Boy, and New Found Glory. It's the first chapter in a serial rock opera entitled This House. The Young Romantics are Zach Collier (vocals), Alessandro Improta (bass), Ted Richards (lead guitar), James Pemberton (rhythm guitar), and Reed Perkins (drums).

LYRICS
I thought this house was ours
I thought this house was ours
I thought this house was ours
I thought this house was...
I can't stop thinking of the way
She'd scold me for not folding my shirts right
She could've loved anybody
She was out of my league
And even though it didn't last long
I'm glad she married me
I tripped over her shoes
I haven't had the heart to move them
I'm hopin' she'll walk back through that door
It's crazy how life moves on
One second she's here, then gone
But this is all wrong, this is all wrong
This is all wrong
I'm not taking care of myself like I should be
I shut everyone out, even family
And I'm alone in this house
Sara said I need to eat more
'cuz I'm looking kinda thin
Sara said I'm not who she made me
Sara said it's been a hard year
But it's gonna get better, better,
Better, better, oh
Sara
Why'd she have to go?
I was always just a minute late
A dollar short, second place
I never even got to say goodbye
I should've been by her side
But someone's gotta work to pay the bills
I never heard the doctor call
And I was too late to the hospital
Sara said I need to eat more
'cuz I'm looking kinda thin
Sara said I'm not who she made me
Sara said it's been a hard year
But it's gonna get better, better,
Better, better, oh
Sara
Why'd she have to go?
I'm not taking care of myself like I should be
I shut everyone out, even family
And I'm alone in this house
[Sara said, Sara said...]
I'm not taking care of myself like I should be
I shut everyone out, even family
And I'm alone in this house
[It's gonna get better, better, better
It's gonna get better, better, whoa
It's gonna get better, better, better
It's gonna get better]
I'm not taking care of myself like I should be
I shut everyone out, even family
And I'm alone in this house
I'm not taking care of myself like I should be
I shut everyone out, even family
And I'm alone in this house
[And I'm alone in this house]
I'm not taking care of myself like I should be
I shut everyone out, even family
And I'm alone in this house
