The Marian Finucane Show - Frank Kelly's Last Interview
Legendary actor, comedian and writer Frank Kelly died on February 28th, 2016 aged 77. In the early part of his career, he starred as Dr Astro and his sidekick Sneaky Snake in the RTE children's TV series 'Wanderly Wagon' and also wrote many of the episodes. The satirical series 'Hall's Pictorial Weekly' gained him national recognition in which he played many roles including County Councillor Parnell Mooney. He is also known for his comic character Gobnait O’Lunasa; a loveable buffoon who featured in a series of one-man sketches on 'The Glen Abbey Radio Show' The most notable of these sketches is 'Christmas Countdown' - a hillarious parody of 'The Twelve Days of Christmas'. However, Kelly will be best remembered for starring in the Channel 4 Sitcom 'Father Ted' as hard-drinking, derranged cleric, Father Jack Hackett; a role which earned him international stardom. His final interview was recorded on 'The Marian Finucane Show' on October 3rd, 2015. Here he talks to Marian about his memoir 'The Next Gig'.
