STORY:
Neff, the ruler of the underworld, captures the goddess Athena. Angry, her father, the Olympian god Zeus, decides to choose a warrior to save her. Respecting the bravery of Roman Centurions, Zeus resurrects one of them and empowers him. The resurrected Roman Centurion, given extra power by Zeus, sets off to battle Neff and his supernatural minions to save Athena.
Whenever the Roman Centurion defeats a white two-headed wolf, a Spirit Ball power-up appears. Each obtained Spirit Ball increases his strength and size. Collecting 3 Spirit Balls allows him to transform into a powerful beast form, increasing his combat abilities before having to face Neff at the end of every level. The Roman Centurion's beast forms include a werewolf in level 1, a weredragon in level 2, a werebear in level 3, a weretiger in level 4 and a golden werewolf in level 5 which is the final level. Each beast form grants its own abilities. The werewolf can throw direct, but weak fireballs and has a powerful thrust attack, the weredragon can unleash lightning bolts and an electric barrier, the werebear has a petrifying breath that turns enemies into stone, the weretiger can throw fireballs in a zig-zag pattern and the golden werewolf has the same abilities as the werewolf form but stronger. It turns out that Neff has send 4 fakes of himself to guard the end of each of the 4 levels while he guards the final level. The first fake Neff at the end of level 1 turns into a form called Aggar, the second fake Neff at the end of level 2 turns into a form called Octeyes, the third fake Neff at the end of level 3 turns into a form called Moldy Snail and the fourth fake Neff at the end of level 4 turns into a form called Crocodile Worm.
At the end of the final level in the golden werewolf beast form, the Roman Centurion must defeat the real Neff in his Van Vader form, which is his true form as a muscular rhinoceros, to save Athena and return her to Zeus.
