Do you have difficulty with transitions and changing your child and/or getting your child dressed?
This is our Autistic son Levi. We struggle terribly with transitions of all kinds along with changing his clothes and his diaper.
Levi used to have a COMPLETE Meltdown every time we changed him and transitions are still a huge issue...
This has been such a struggle for us that it's one of our main goals in Therapy to work on...
This process usually takes a while. If we try to force Levi to get dressed or changed, he Regresses and we lose all the time we spent making progress...
In an effort to assist with both of these issues, we started using this Children's Visual Countdown Timer...
This visual timer has been life changing for us. Even though it takes a long time to get dressed and changed, Levi is very responsive to it.
This was suggested for Levi during Therapy and it's been a game changer. It visually shows your child how much time they have until they need to do whatever it is that needs to be done such as being changed and we also use it for bedtime and other tough transitions where he needs to do something or go somewhere that he doesn't want to... Which happens a lot!
On the visual timer, there's always some kind of fun picture that's revealed when the timer goes off and it makes a noise related to the picture so it makes it fun for them.
And we've also learned that Levi sometimes likes it when we make a game out of getting dressed before the timer goes off. That makes it more fun too. Sometimes...
If you struggle with getting dressed or transitions such as bedtime, bath time, nap time, getting in the car, going to the doctor or going or doing anything like cleaning up or sharing toys, try a visual timer...

It's an app that can be downloaded or you can also just purchase a children's visual timer if you prefer from someplace like Amazon. We prefer this because we can use it anywhere we go. The one we use is called "Visual Countdown Timer" and it has a picture of a yellow duck on it.
