Here on the Easy-Iron Channel, I describe life as a homeowner and DIY enthusiast. Or, in modern parlance, a maker. In a home, you have to repair, adapt, renovate, or even reinvent things here and there. Or work from instructions. Mrs. X always has great ideas... that the DIYer has to implement. "Honey, the others..." or "Honey, I found something on the internet..." These sentences mean work. But usually also fun. Anyway, I'm not all thumbs, so I get right to work, unfold the ironing board, and off I go.

Pimping the Rain Barrel.
It always annoyed me that you could never see when the thing was empty. And the tap is mounted at a height where the barrel can't possibly be empty yet. The rain barrel serves as a water reservoir for our flower pots and raised garden bed. What doesn't come from the roof of the extension as rain is simply drawn from the groundwater. Groundwater is the water that doesn't run off the sealed surfaces directly through the drains. Two weeks ago, 71 mm of rain fell here in 24 hours. That's 71 liters per square meter. So, some groundwater must have been replenished.

How do I put the videos together for you?
I use an iPhone with a tripod and the "Camera" or "FiLMic Pro" apps.
I send the data via Wi-Fi to a Mac mini and process it on a MacBook Pro in iMovie. The theme song is cobbled together in GarageBand, and the overlays are created in Keynote and inserted using a green screen. (I always get a copyright infringement warning for the theme song. So, professionals also use the GarageBand templates ;-) and some know just as little about music as I do.)
