Welcome to the Easy-Iron Channel.
Equipping Thermacell Replacement Tanks with Lighter Valves
In this video, an empty tank, which would normally end up in the trash, is being repurposed. Recycling, so to speak.
This Thermacell device is the best when it comes to mosquito repellent.
Especially this year, lots of rain, lots of mosquitoes.
In the evenings, you couldn't sit on the patio without the little buggers sucking you dry. So we went through quite a bit of gas. With the original refill packs, that gets expensive.
Here, on the Easy-Iron Channel, I describe life as a homeowner and DIY enthusiast. Or, in modern parlance, a maker. In your own home, you have to repair, adapt, renew, or even reinvent things here and there. Or work from instructions. Mrs. X always has great ideas... that the DIYer has to implement. "Honey, the others..." or "Honey, I found something on the internet..." These sentences mean work. But usually, they're also fun. Never mind, I'm not all thumbs, so let's get to work, unfold the ironing board, and get started.
And you're usually right there with me! Sometimes I think afterward, "I should have set up a camera..."

How do I put the videos together for you?
I use an iPhone with a tripod and the "Camera" or "FiLMic Pro" apps.
I send the data via Wi-Fi to a Mac mini and process it on a MacBook Pro in iMovie. The theme song is cobbled together in GarageBand, and the overlays are created in Keynote and added using a green screen. (I always get a copyright infringement warning for the theme song. So, professionals also use GarageBand templates ;-) and some know just as little about music as I do.)
