While growing up in the late 90’s and early 2000’s Kolkata, many of us who aspired to set up bands, were hugely inspired and influenced by Bangladeshi musicians. We often wondered whether we could ever be able to produce such brilliant original music, with such tremendous technical skills and elan. We owe so much to our dear neighbours without whose music our formative years would have been quite achromatic. This is my humble attempt at a tribute to one of my favourite bands, “Dalchhut”. This song epitomises, for me, the sheer brilliance of the amalgamation of the Late Sanjib Chowdhury’s words and Bappa Mazumdar’s composition.
Happy 50th Birth Anniversary to you, Bangladesh! 🇧🇩
