I'm finishing up the knife that I forged out a little while back. I attempted to create a damascus/san mai blade but that did not pan out. The steel was too similar and I lost any and all detail/contrast. So to save it I ended up etching it a final time in copper tainted ferric chloride acid. Just by adding pennies to my acid I was able to dip the blade and get a copper patina.
