This is a 24 second video clip Microsoft used as a placeholder intro video for their 'Welcome to Windows' program during the development stages of Windows 98 and Windows Millennium Edition. The file is labeled ACHIEVE.MPG (This video) in Windows 98 Beta 2 (builds 1569-1581), and WELCOM98.ASF in Windows ME (certain Release Candidate builds, albeit in a corrupted form).

The animation depicts a orrery-like object projecting and orbiting certain media types showing the evolution of media inventions (hence one of the titles "History of Media" and "Media Evolution"). I have no idea what the source this animation is from, despite knowing the filename 'ACHIEVE.MPG' has given me the reason to believe that this was possibly taken from some MPEG demo disc a Win98 Dev had at the time in 1997. It is also possible that this may have been clipped from a DVD disc despite the video's bitrate and how it looks. If anyone knows this animation and is aware of the full version (and possibly better high resolution/quality), let me know.

I have increased the video resolution from 352x240 to 640x480 to somewhat preserve the quality due to the nature of YouTube's compression screwing up bitrates of low res videos.
