In this talk, the orator, Sinu Joseph shares her views on the cultural
practices around menstruation in India. She attempts to explain the
scientific & logical reasoning behind the origins of ancient practices
using two frameworks: Science & Dharma.
Ms. Sinu touches upon various sensitive subjects such as:
1) Menstrual seclusion
2) Practices of not touching the Tulsi plant or not cooking food while
menstruating
3) The ban on women’s visit to Sabrimala Temple
4) Modern Science & Ancient Traditions
