Wish / Accidental Once in a Lifetime Experience!
We booked a week in a modest 2 room condo on Sanibel Island back in summer of 2022, but the week we chose just happened to be the week after Hurrican Ian struck the island. The rental agency was only able to help by putting our booking back for one full year, and he we are! We get to the island, it is about 1,000 to drive for us, and the owner of the business says she has no record of my booking and she has no vacancy! After a bit of a scramble, she calls back to say she's found us a house to stay in for the week, no extra cost outside a pet deposit. She did mention that it was an upgrade from our original booking, but that did nothing to prepare us for what was waiting!
