Flex-Tuff Firefighting Gloves by Shelby - FDIC 2013
We stopped by the Shelby booth at FDIC and Tom Ragan, President of Shelby Gloves, showcased their Flex-Tuff firefighting glove. The Flex-Tuff is one of Shelby's newest designs. This glove is designed with multidimensional fingers.
The glove has a Kevlar lining and a Crosstech barrier, which is a thermally stable PTFE and will give you the same level of protection in your gloves that you get in your turnouts. You will notice when wearing this glove your fingers go all the way to the end to improve your finger tactility. The glove also has a trigger finger for operating knobs and halyards and the palm lays in the palm of the hand without a lot of rolls in the leather. Having rolls in the leather will impair your grip strength which will relay more hand fatigue over time. This glove is made in the USA.
