Live 11 Vs Bitwig 4
Is Ableton Live better than Bitwig? Live is definitely one of the most creative and innovative DAWs on the market but Bitwig has a few tricks up its sleeve too! Here's a few of my many reasons for choosing one DAW over the other.
1. Bitwig's modulators are amazing. You can use them on just about anything, even third party VSTs. There are several types to choose from too, including a variety of LFOs, step sequencers, macros and many more besides.
2. "The Grid" is Bitwig's answer to the kind of custom creativity you can have in Max for Live but it's much easier to use, making the entire DAW feel like an amazingly flexible modular synth.
3. It's available natively on Linux, which is without doubt the very best and most customisable operating system for pro audio. Even though there are still some products that are not Linux friendly, I would much rather support companies with the vision to support this community than to be forced into using an OS that stifles my creative flow.
There are many more reasons why I chose Bitwig, including the gorgeous GUI and the innovative workflow, instruments and effects.
Give it a try sometime if you haven't already, it's a great DAW. One thing I miss from Live is the Simpler. Hopefully something like that will be developed eventually in Bitwig. The Sampler is amazing already.
