On the 29th of May, 2021, Enlightened agents in Poland made 173 green layers covering half the country, for a total of over 1 billion MU!
They were able to do this, in part, by using co-located portals (sets of portals with exactly the same latitudes and longitudes). They used a tripled porta in the south of the country, and a quintuple (set of five) portal in the northwest, then made 15 base links.
With 15 base links, they then began to build a herringbone, with 48 spine portals - hoping, perhaps, for 15 times 48, or 720 layers!
However, many of the portals on the spine let them down - some giving no fields at all, so that in the end they made the still incredible "only" 173 layers.
This video looks at what went wrong, and what went right, and how you, if you find some co-located portals of your own, could maximise the number of layers in a herringbone!
