Minecolonies 1.19.3 is a mod whose full capabilities you'll likely struggle to explore in just one hour. In short, it lets you create your own colony—your own personal settlement.
The locals won't sit idle in the settlement. Each resident will have a specific job. Some build houses, others catch animals, others grow crops, and still others prepare meals. There will even be so-called guards who will protect the settlement from bandits.
If the single-player game makes you yawn, the Minecolonies mod is definitely worth downloading. But don't expect to immediately have a huge, perfectly functioning settlement. Initially, you'll have a village with four residents. You need to create jobs and participate in the city's development. This way, the population will gradually increase. And the more residents, the more diverse the professions in the settlement.
Ultimately, it all comes down to automation. This concerns the extraction of a wide variety of resources, including food. Bandits will only attack you once the settlement is already developed. That is, the bandits will understand that there's something to attack. To repel an attack, you need to build barracks and posts for soldiers. You can train not only soldiers but also residents.
