Throughout the month of March, the OCOB committee will present a series of events centered around Between the World and Me, including a book review, a movie festival featuring Black Panther (written by Coates), writers workshops, a readers theater, streaming of a Coates YouTube interview, and book discussions at the Bornt Branch Library and SUNY SCCC.
Organization: Friends of the Schenectady County Library
Mission: One County, One Book is a community read initiative that
encourages everyone in the county to read the same book. The public nominated books, with the list of 300 titles whittled down to four books. After a two month voting period, Between the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates was chosen to be the 2019 book.
