GoodBye Young’s Restaurant
Youngs Restaurant, an iconic family business from my youth closed after 52 years of operation. I was surprised at just how difficult it was to watch it being disassembled.
This is my love letter to Youngs but also the surrounding community. Though I spent only 4 years there, I am in awe of what I had the privilege to learn and do there. No matter the passage of time, we hold onto places and things in our minds and our bones. Youngs was the first place I felt cool as the new kid in high school and the first place that was stable after moving from my childhood town, because no matter what, you had a friend to say hi to inside.
