"Ayusay" Gorge
Three kilometers above the confluence of the Ozernaya and Almaty rivers is the mouth of the Ayusay river, which flows in a narrow, deep and difficult gorge. The name of the gorge is translated as Bear Log.
The sculptural group "Three Bears" can serve as a reference point. If you walk 500 meters from them to the west, in the direction of the Ayusai Gorge (Bear Log), you can see a waterfall about 5 meters high (43.096032,76.944015). Previously, it was twice as high, but in the 60s of the last century, the collapse of the left rocky slope greatly reduced its height. A little higher up the gorge is another small waterfall. From it, along the path, you can go up the gorge, which narrows and turns into a small but deep rocky canyon, at the end of which there is the next waterfall available for visiting (43.086403,76.945335). It flows down from a rocky ledge, has a height of about 8-9 meters. The slopes surrounding the waterfall are difficult and extremely dangerous. Above this waterfall there are several other small waterfalls. And in the right tributary of the Ayusai river there is a rather high waterfall, but due to its inaccessibility, it is practically unknown (43.080114,76.944718).
