This is the last intact DC-8 in Europe
I discovered there's a total of 2 and a quarter DC8 left in Europe, none of which are flyworthy.
Supposedly there should be 5 (and a quarter) of this type, however I'm afraid three of those have been scrapped already, or at least hidden from the public.
Here we have F-RAFE, a modified DC-8-50 (built as a 30 version). It was built back in early 1961 which makes it almost 58 years old. The French air force, Armée de l'Air, acquired the plane back in 1973 and turned it into a secret project named SARIGUE.
Le Bourget museum near Paris acquired this airframe in 2001 and it has been on display since.
The second DC-8 I've found are the LN-PIP, which is supposedly still used as a fire trainer at Kopenhagen airport, Denmark.
The last quarter is merely a nose section left at Griesheim airport's August Euler museum, just south of Frankfurt, Germany. It's last registration 5A-DGK.
