Webinar: "Innovation: From Design to Product"
IEEE PAF-KIET Student Branch celebrates IEEE DAY 2020 by presenting IEEE DAY 2020 Power Webinar Series organized the 3rd webinar on 16th of October 2020, from 11:30, am – 12:30 pm, under the title of Innovation: From Design to Product. This Webinar was an educative session for the participants to learn about how to research & perform Industrial work. First of all, the speaker, Mr. Muhammad Hamza Ihtisham brought the term ''Innovation'' to light. The spectrum of innovation was further explained as well. Categorizations of how to, initially, design and make it into projects were then discussed. Next, the speaker came upon the sub-topic of "Innovation vs Creativity". Many individual factors of each ability were cast into this part of the Webinar. The participants were then explained through examples of how either ability can construct forms of designs, eventually leading to Projects in various professions and with a multitude of research approaches.
In the other half of this session, the focus was brought upon how to Design a Project. Various steps were taken into account such as identifying a local problem or create a new idea. In this portion, examples were also asked by participants. Many responded with interesting ones, for example, in a certain residency, the street light is always switched on for the day. The easiest solution to this was also given as to designing a simple sensor circuit that detects sunrise, and simultaneously, switches off the circuit upon detection.
Many scientific approaches were delivered by the speaker to show research cases. Observational, Hypothesis, Experimentation, and finally, a conclusion towards the research. Lastly, Mr. Muhammad Hamza Ihtisham expressed how to project the projects, what market to target. A few were given by his own experience such as International Conferences & Competitions, Project Exhibitions and establishing your own company. In the end, the question-answer session also took place as well as give the token of appreciation to the speaker.
