Researchers from the University of Bristol, the Babraham Institute and the Centre for Genomic Regulation studied the behaviours of two Latin American insect species, the dinosaur ant and the red paper wasp, to determine their roles.
By fitting the insects with tiny paint spots or ID tags, researchers could observe them in their natural #environment and uncover how roles are assigned.
