As with previous floors of the Tower, Yunica's exit stands behind a large door which this time opens to a large sand pit. From its depths, a giant demonic flora bars the path towards finding Lady Reah.

Taking on a much different appearance than it would 700 years later, Khonsclard has always stood out as the oddball of the bunch that makes up this game's bosses: it's completely stationary, has an annoying environmental hazard...and is a plant. Going through the game again, though, I found this guy giving me more trouble than most other bosses.

The basic premise is simple: Khonsclard summons smaller "eyes" in the sand that must be defeated in order to open up the main body's weakspot. The eyes don't attack but can eventually begin healing Khonsclard very slowly. The main body does all of the attacking, which can be temporarily stopped if you attack the body's base, but as the battle goes on the number of eyes increases and the sand constantly pulling you towards the main body turns the battle into a constant tug-of-war of marking a target.

Khonsclards attacks include seed bullets, shooting rolling seeds which bounce around the arena, shooting pellets in an arc of rows, firing off bugs which snake across the entirety of the field, or slamming the ground to rain fire down if you get too close. Some of these like the bugs or seeds can be destroyed or influence by your attacks, but the rate at which it attacks makes relying on skills to save your landings an on and off tactic viably.

Its most annoying attack is the one it does most often in making sand waves across the field. It will become difficult to attack the eyes while finding spots to land in the waves while also fighting the sand which continues to drag you forward. This attack coupled with how often he attacks is reason enough to make sure you attack the body's base enough so that it temporarily stops attacking.

Phoenix Flame is the godsend for this battle since it covers such a big area, which will be important when 5 and eventually 6 eyes are on the field and you'll have to attack multiple targets or be overwhelmed and attack fast enough before any of the eyes respawn. Though the game's auto targeting can make it a bit rough when you want to fire in a certain direction, the main goal is to maintain focus and not let any healing make you scramble while also not letting it go unpunished for too long.

Khonsclard's weakpoint gets decimated by Thunder Crash, and will reset after a set amount of damage is taken. If you do enough damage it will fall after exposing its weakpoint five times, but if it heals enough or you didn't deal enough damage then you'll be end for extra rounds of its havoc.

The creature defeated, Yunica's way opens up. Further ahead she crosses paths with remaining Knights, who remark that the resistance had been light up to this point. Regardless of the enemy's schemes they move forward towards their goal post-haste, though Roy lags behind to praise Yunica's recent accomplishment in his own teasing way.
