Covid-19 Vaccine (educational) Vlog
Hello! I'm taking a break from Hematology videos to publish this important one. First of all, I don't know where you stand about vaccines but this is my video and platform, and this is my perspective on this. If you don't agree, you can debate respectfully, or not proceed to watch this video, the choice is yours.
I have been preoccupied in the last couple of days to work on this video. This is probably the most researched video I am publishing to this day, and it feels like a school project, but I think it is worth it. All of my sources for this video are linked down below.
I am sharing my personal story about my experience with the Moderna vaccine. I have been given my first shot and I am also taking this opportunity to educate people about these vaccines. There are a lot of misinformation out there, that I felt I should use my platform to give out the information and answer some questions, to lessen the fear. Yes there are still things we don't know about the vaccines (e.g how long immunity lasts, or whether you can still be a carrier of the virus but not get sick). But what we do know based on factual data, is that the Pfizer vaccine gives 95%, and the Moderna vaccine is at 94.5% effectivity. It may come with a couple of side effects like, tiredness, drowsiness, and a mild headache for me (I didn't include the mild headache in the video because I didn't know it was a side effect until I asked my coworkers and they had it too, and it also goes away so quickly) but I would totally get the side effects over landing myself in the ICU for Covid-19. With the vaccine, this disease is now PREVENTABLE, it is now YOUR CHOICE if you want to protect yourself against it or not. Think about that for a second.
I also just wanted to add that there is a contraindication on taking the vaccine, which is that people with severe allergic reactions are not advised to take them. It is always best to consult with your primary physician to have a more informed decision moving forward. As for me I don't really have any allergies except for the seasonal spring allergies, so this was a none issue.
