Dell CS24-SC - Idle To Full - Fan Noise
I recently bought a 1U Dell CS24-SC for a decent price. It's a great server, the only problem is that I wish to use it in a home environment (my bedroom) and it's a bit too loud. To quiet it I decided that I would try removing one of the four 40mm San Ace 40 fans. I suppose it did get a bit quieter... Now because I removed two fans I wanted to make sure the processors wouldn't get too hot under full load - and from the looks of it; the fans spin up just in time to lower the temperature of the processors!
