The Forest in Ernst Jünger. First of all, it is worth noting that we are dealing with an image, not a concept. As an author, Jünger belonged to the broad intellectual current of the conservative revolution, and like many of its representatives, in the opposition between the sensual-concrete, plastic and the abstract-rational, conceptual, he invariably takes the side of the first. Contemporaries noted that Jünger was a talented publicist, writer - a man of sight. In this sense, the image of the forest contains the advantage that it opens up to us a symbolic reality that can be comprehended not only with the help of ratio, but also with the help of imagination, with the help of dreams, religious hymns and mystical insights, in other words, poetically. Poetic language is the language of myth, it is more archaic, more primordial than the language of logos. Jünger's language in this sense is not destructive, it invites each reader to practice stereoscopic vision with him, to see depth in the surface.
