Forgot your Macbook password? (Mac password reset)
There are many ways to reset or change the password on a Mac computer. Apple describes some of them on its website, but one of the most convenient methods has been removed from its recommendations. I believe this method was unfairly removed, so I decided to demonstrate it.
To reset the password on a Mac computer, you need to:
Boot your Mac into Recovery Mode by holding down the "command" and "R" keys before booting.
Select "Utilities" from the top menu and open "Terminal."
Enter "resetpassword" in the Terminal window.
The password reset program window appears, asking you to select your startup disk and user account.
Enter your password and confirmation, and click the "Save" button.
After restarting your Mac, log in to the OS using the new password.
The weakness of this method is that it doesn't use the keychain.
That is, This method will only help you access the Mac OS X operating system.
