We finally attempted to cross the Russian border in the middle of winter and in the freezing cold with our 4x4 camper van through the Lars border crossing in the Caucasus, leaving Georgia behind. In this special episode, we show you what it was like to cross into Russia in 2024 and its supposedly most conflictive regions, such as North Ossetia, Ingushetia, and Chechnya, where many countries officially advise against travel or simply say they do not offer any consular support if something happens to you. Are these recommendations exaggerated? Are these Russian regions really that dangerous? Is it safe for a European citizen to cross Russia now?
