This is basic, but even advanced After Effects users might not know this.
Its one of the most useful, least sexy techniques in Adobe After Effects.
Number keys can be used to create and navigate to markers on the timeline.
If you have a number pad, you can use these numbers to select layers by their index number.
This gets to be super useful, especially when you have a lot of layers.
