Iowa Spring Turkey Hunting (3 Toms in 2 Days)
On this episode of Midwest Outdoor chasers we pursue the illusive thunder chicken, better known as the wild turkey. Here in southwest Iowa we are blessed to have rolling hills, vast open fields and plenty of greenery, perfect habitat for one of our favorite birds. Turkeys are a conservation success story and even though their population is fluctuating nationwide there are exponentially more birds on the landscape now than there were 100 years ago. This fact is especially apparent here in the loess hills where on any given spring morning you can easily spot dozens of toms strutting their stuff trying to entice a hen. Between four of us we have several tags for multiple seasons and its shaping up to be an exciting spring.
