The moon, including its south polar region, is battered with impact craters from millions of years ago. Therefore, on August 29, 2023, Pragyan rover was rerouted after it encountered a hazardous crater.
Similarly, the Pragyan rover has completed all its mission objectives and has been put into sleep mode by ISRO to give it the best chance at surviving the Lunar night. 🛌
It has been parked at a safe spot, its instruments turned off and solar panel carefully oriented to receive maximum sunlight at the time of next sunrise on 22 September.
