Dear Michael,
Most consumers don't know that a notorious poison — arsenic — is present in much of the chicken produced and consumed in the state. Exposure to arsenic is widely known to cause cancer, and it has been linked to cardiovascular disease, diabetes and neurological problems, among other impacts. We've got a great chance to get this poison out of our chicken by passing a bill through the state legislature, but time is running out. Will you sign our petition TODAY to ban arsenic in chicken feed in Maryland?
Last week, state officials considered the bill to ban arsenic in Maryland's chicken in hearings at the state capitol. Scientists, environmental groups, local business owners, farmers, faith leaders, and concerned citizens from all across Maryland stood in Annapolis in support of the ban of this known rat poison in chicken.
We've built real momentum, but with Maryland's legislative session ending in April, there's no time to lose. Can you join others in calling for a ban on arsenic in chicken feed?
