3 years ago, my tinnitus distress bothered me so much that I thought I would have to move from CO back to IL to live with my dad. Today I can tell you that I have almost no tinnitus distress, I say that because there's stress, it exists, however, it's almost non-existent at this point. Something that saved me was hearing someone say that no matter how loud your tinnitus is, they believed curing your tinnitus distress was possible.
Tinnitus is a ringing in the ears, tinnitus distress is the stressful reaction to that ringing. If you are reading this and you are in distress, I understand how me saying cure the distress and not the tinnitus itself is disheartening. Let me tell you, ringing ain't sh*t, and I don't pay attention to it, I'm not bothered by it, and I am loving my life. My tinnitus has not changed, my brain did. I smile with a genuine smile. I love fully. I used to think about tinnitus from the moment I woke up, to the moment I fell asleep. Those days are over.
They can be for you as well. It's difficult at first, however, it's like investing. Put in the work to heal, it's not evident at first, and then with the healing takes place exponentially. Google the compound effect if you're unfamiliar.
We got this. It's my mission to share my story of healing my tinnitus distress. You are not alone. You are not forsaken. You are whole and beautiful, and have A LOT of life to live. So let's get to it!
