Jewel Changi Airport (also known as Jewel or Jewel Changi) is a nature-themed entertainment and retail complex surrounding one of Singapore Changi Airport's passenger terminals. Its centerpiece is the Rain Vortex, the world's tallest indoor waterfall, surrounded by a cascading forest.
The world's largest and highest indoor waterfall, 40m high, recirculated rainwater is pumped through the roof and falls free-falling through a circular hole at a rate of up to 37,850 litres per minute into an underground pool, acrylic funnels on the floor prevent splashing and block out the sound of the waterfall. The toroidal roof is 200 x 150m and consists of over 9,000 glass pieces. At night, the circular walls of the waterfall become a 360-degree stage for a light and sound show.
