the 1918 Hammond Multiplex
The Hammond Typewriter Company was founded in 1888, and lead to the one of the only alternative typewriters to survive the turn of the century, eventually giving way to the verityper, which became a newsroom staple up until the 1980s. This machine uses a single element called a type shuttle, and prints with amazing quality.
