Formerly a favorite cocktail of the elite, the Clover Club existed from 1882 to 1914 at the Bellevue-Strarford Hotel in Philadelphia. Once a month, the city's elite gathered there: financiers, industrialists, politicians, journalists, and writers. The drink has a complex flavor.
Ingredients and proportions:
1 lime or half a lemon;
1 egg;
20 ml of grenadine or raspberry syrup;
45 ml of gin.
Clover Club Cocktail Recipe
1. Combine lime or lemon juice, egg white (produces foam), syrup, and gin in a shaker with ice.
2. Strain the mixture through a sieve into a serving glass.
3. The classic version of the cocktail is garnished without garnish. If you use a mint leaf, you get a "Clover Leaf."
