Elephants Vigorously Splashing during Mud Bath
They truly enjoyed this mud bath, it was a hot day in the bushveld (36º C/96º F) and what better way to cool off.
Kruger National park has short gravel turn offs to get closer to the rivers or lookouts, it was at one of the turn offs that I encountered the herd.
Elephants mud bath to cool off, mud also forms a layer around their skin that blocks out UV rays and it helps to remove parasites.
