Number 10. 40 year old whale trainer, Dawn Brancheau was killed when the 12,000 pound killer whale, Tilikum, jumped out of the water and grabbed her. Tilikum than proceeded to drown her. Tilikum is also responsible for the death of 3 others. Tilikum now at Seaworld Orlando in Florida.
Number 9. Chimps at the Goodall Institute in South Africa attacked a researcher named Andrew Oberle. It is said that Oberle did not obey safety precautions. He was bitten by the chimps and was dragged for about half a mile.
Number 8. Rocky an acting Grizzly bear. Rockyhis 39 year old trainer Stephen Miller on the back in 2008. Rocky then bit Miller in the neck killing him instantly. A hearing was held in Sacremento on 2012 to see if Rocky could ever act again.
Number 7. A tiger named Manticore killed Roy Horn. Horn was performing in Mirage Hotel and Casino in Vegas when 600 pound Manticore bit Horn's neck leaving him paralyzed. Horn later died on March, 2014 at the young age of 17.
Number 6. Timothy Treadwell and Amie Huguenard were killed in Katmai National Park in Alaska in October of 2003. They were killed by a another Grizzy bear. Park Rangers later found parts of their dead mauled bodies in different locations.
Number 5. Christian Walliser was mauled by 3 Bengal tigers at a show in Hamburg in 2009. The tigers bit into his head, upperbody, and even managed to rip off his arm! This is just one of the many types of accidents that happens in the circus world.
Number 4.Ofir Drori was floating down the Omo River in Ethiopia when he was attacked by a 3 meter long crocodile. The crocodile bit off his calve, but Drori managed to escape, and ran through the forest, until he was assisted by some local tribalmen.
Number 3. In the Burdan District of India 2 Elephants when on a rampage an killed a man. The 2 elephants trampled many crops. They then flung a man up into the air. The elephants then proceeded to trample the man.
Number 2. Steve Irwin, also known as the "crocodile hunter" was killed by several stings by a stingray. This is unusual because stingrays only sting when they feel threatened. Irwin must have unknowingly provoked the stingray.
Number 1. A tiger killed a man at a the Ningbo Zoo in China. The man was trying to sneak into the zoo when he accidently fell into a tiger pit. He was almost mauled to death. He was rushed to a hospital. The man died shortly after reaching the hospital. The tiger that mauled him was also shot to death.
