We invite you to the free online course "Materials Science in the Oil and Gas Industry". The course provides information on the structure and properties of metals, the basics of alloy theory, and the theory of thermal and thermochemical treatment. The main methods of producing carbon and alloy steels and cast irons, their classification, marking features, and area of application are considered. Non-ferrous metals are considered - aluminum, copper, titanium, and nickel. The classification, marking, and areas of application of alloys based on them - brass, bronze, duralumin, silumin, and others - are presented. From the course, students will learn about the structure, properties, and areas of application of modern non-metallic materials: polymers, composites, rubbers, and sitalls. The course includes 35 video lectures, notes, 3 virtual labs, and tests. The course requires 3 credit units (108 hours).
