Advantages direct link:
The Direct Link workflow is more efficient and faster than the Datasmith Exporter workflow, as it eliminates the need to re-export the .udatasmith file
turn off single furniture items in CAD system, use different layer combos (if they are clean/correct)
Disadvantages direct link:
only 1 person can work on a TM project if it is a large one.
upgrading between 2022 and 2023 direct links established with the Twinmotion 2020 direct link plugin in archicad can no longer be synced.
Having a saved out datasmith file saves the possibility of this happening again. not onyl protection against sync dropping out in normal use but
protects you against issues with version mismatch.
DirectLink connection is missing – moved file or worse renamed file. You can’t relink without loosing the materials applied inside TM
