Test of a universal intercom Urmet 1133-15
I purchased this Urmet 1133-15 universal intercom to replace a Bitronvideo model whose casing had yellowed. I paid 42 euros for it.
The intercom comes with instructions in French, which include a wiring chart corresponding to the various intercoms sold on the market.

The Urmet 1133-15 is wall-mounted at three points. Screws and wall plugs are included, but I recommend using better-quality wall plugs purchased from a hardware store.
This universal intercom is quite large (23.5 cm high x 10 cm wide) and has a well-designed, robust construction. In an apartment, it adds a touch of modernity.
The terminal block is accessible after removing the plastic shell. Wiring the five wires is straightforward. A jumper needs to be made between terminals 6 and 10; for the rest, simply refer to the correspondence table in the instructions.
In my case, I had two wires of the same color (light blue), and to identify them more easily, I scratched one of them with a black marker. In 20 minutes, the intercom was installed and operational.
I then conducted tests in real-life conditions, with one person at the door station and a second person at the handset. The goal is to adjust the microphone and speaker volumes (potentiometers can be adjusted with a small flathead screwdriver).
In my case, the microphone volume was already set correctly. However, I had to adjust the speaker volume by significantly increasing the volume. This adds noise, but the level remains reasonable, and conversations are therefore perfectly audible for both parties.
I appreciate the presence of a ringer volume switch under the intercom. It has three positions: maximum volume, minimum volume, and mute. This last option is practical for not being disturbed in the middle of the night.
I don't use the button located at the bottom right of the box. In my situation, only the gate release button is used.
Finally, the only criticism I have is the shrill and rather unpleasant ringing you hear when someone rings the doorbell. But this problem can be overcome by setting the switch to minimum volume.
In conclusion, I am satisfied with this Urmet 1133-15 universal intercom. It is attractive, practical to use, and I installed it quickly. I recommend it as a replacement for an aging intercom.
