With a height of 260.5 m, Tehri Dam is the tallest dam in India and is currently ranked No 10 on the List of Tallest Dams in the world. Since 2005, the filling of the reservoir has led to the reduced flow of Bhagirathi water from the usual 28 m3/s to a mere 5.7 m3/s.
