Clarithromycin is a macrolide antibiotic used to treat various bacterial infections, including:
Respiratory tract infections (e.g., pneumonia, bronchitis)
Skin and soft tissue infections
Helicobacter pylori infections (stomach ulcers)
Sexually transmitted infections (e.g., chlamydia, gonorrhea)
Contraindications:
Allergic to clarithromycin or other macrolides

Adult dose:
500mg twice daily for 7-14 days (dependent on the specific infection and patient population)
Children Dose:
Children under 6 months: not recommended
Children 6 months to 12 years: 7.5mg/kg twice daily (max 500mg twice daily)
Children over 12 years: adult dose (500mg twice daily)
