Riikira - Viscera
This song was originally uploaded to YouTube on 27 Aug 2022. Every image used in the video was AI generated. I had used AI (DALL-E 2, specifically) to quickly bring to life some draft versions of what the next album artwork could look like, and used them in the original upload because I thought they looked cool, and suited the general dystopian tech vibe of Riikira and her music.
The intent was always to commission the final album artwork, giving the artist helpful materials of what I had in my head, because for better or worse, the idea was conveyed this way much easier than words could.
Being somewhat fascinated at the time with the concept of computers making stuff "out of thin air", I wasn't really aware that these things were trained on real existing artwork; without giving it a whole lot of thought, just figured that AI learns over time what things look like, and what artwork is, without really asking how it comes to those results.
In short, I was aware that AI imagery was getting big, and that artists were worried, but not aware of the scope of theft going on to form these models.
The original video is now unlisted and demonetized, so that it cannot be found through search but will remain in people's playlists - because let's be honest, YouTube algo will probably bury this reupload and some people just don't care.
