René Borbonus - Greater relevance through effective rhetoric
Why is rhetoric relevant? What do we need to pay attention to so that stories remain interesting? What's behind those memorable commercials? How do we make a speech effective? What constitutes good communication? And how do we, as speakers, leave a lasting impression?
The answer lies in a good mix of various relevance boosters. Why storytelling is indispensable and linguistic beauty so important, what reversed sentences are all about, and what role virtues and their sister virtues play – I'll discuss all of this in my presentation on relevance.
In the second part, I'll shift the focus from the factual to the relational level, because even the best-implemented theory is of little use if we don't connect with people. Therefore, my suggestion is: Our world needs relevant personalities.
