SOMATIK TECHNO - At the end of the 2000s, a new direction of electronic music emerged in the St. Petersburg underground - somatik techno. The style is based on a hypnotic techno rhythm slowed down to 90 bpm, combined with a dirty “rusty” sound, deep bass, a gloomy dystopian atmosphere and a swinging, somewhat reminiscent of hip-hop and dub groove. The authors and preachers of somatik techno are iconic figures of the domestic electronic scene: Oleg Azelitsky (DJ Slon), VovaPCP and the Queen of Logic. The trend appeared as a purely psychedelic-experimental one, but due to the fact that its creators regularly perform at raves and clubs, it quickly gained success on dance floors, simultaneously spreading online and finding adherents in different parts of the planet.
