In this video, I'm going to make a working shower. My method has a variety of other uses, such as a sink! Or a fountain! It requires a command block, but the function part is very small, so you don't have to worry too much about not being able to fit it in the house. I ended up making a whole bathroom to accommodate the shower, because it's weird to have a random shower in a desolate plains for miles and miles around...
